    Summary:

I’m sure most of us are familiar with the saying, “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.” As we open to Daniel 5, we find that King Nebuchadnezzar is no longer on the throne. God allowed him to rise to incredible power in Daniel 1-3, but in Daniel 4 God humbled Nebuchadnezzar by having him eat grass like an ox until he knew that "the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.” In Daniel 5, we find that Nebuchadnezzar’s son is now on the throne. How do you think he is going to do? Will he have learned from his father’s mistakes and acknowledge the Most High God as Nebuchadnezzar finally did, or will he have to learn the hard way, too? While I’m sure we know where this text is going, when God’s Word repeats a theme over and over again, it’s probably because He is trying to reinforce a message to us.
