Summary:

Many of us were raised in homes or in churches that added rules to rules to rules to make sure that we behaved in certain ways. Some of these commands came from Scripture, but many of them were manmade rules, called legalisms. Jesus encountered legalists during His ministry, too, and what He reveals to them about their legalisms should be a warning to us that we don't fall into the same trap as they did.
