DISCIPLESHIP PASTOR
Full-Time (40-50 hrs/wk)

Purpose of the Position:
To facilitate and oversee a culture of discipleship at Battle Creek Community Church that produces disciples of Jesus Christ who love God completely, love self correctly, and love others compassionately.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
To provide scope and sequence of the discipleship that occurs within the church from birth through adulthood. This will include oversight of Children’s Ministry, Middle School Ministry, High School Ministry, Small Groups, and other discipleship training classes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and work with the Senior Pastor to produce a dynamic discipleship plan
  • Coordinate and work with Ministry Directors to implement the discipleship plan
  • Attend weekly Staff Meeting and engage regularly with the Staff
  • Engage regularly with Church Members

Training and Shepherding:
Children’s | HSM | MSM

Oversee the choice and implementation of curriculum for:

  • Children’s Ministry
  • Middle School Ministry
  • High School Ministry

Train and assist Ministry Directors in:

  • Necessary theological training
  • Working as a team
  • Implementing a unified Discipleship Plan

Small Groups

Serve as Small Groups Director who:

  • Implements a discipleship plan for Small Groups
  • Oversees curriculum for Small Groups
  • Trains and shepherds Small Group Leaders

Other Pastoral Duties

Periodically preach, if gifted to do so

Assist the elders with congregational care, including:

  • Hospital visits
  • Funerals
  • Weddings
  • Biblical counseling

Support the ministry of BCCC in any way needed to advance the cause of Christ

Personal Qualifications

  1. Be a follower of Jesus Christ
  2. Have a passion for making disciples who make disciples
  3. Demonstrate Christlike character and a commitment to become more like Christ
  4. Have an ability to work well with others
  5. Become a member of BCCC

Professional Qualifications

  1. The ideal candidate will have a seminary degree from an accredited school
  2. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of relevant ministry experience

Accountability
The Discipleship Pastor will report to the Senior Pastor
