What to Expect

A New Church Plant

The first thing you need to know about us is that we are a new church plant meeting in another church's building. Emmett Street Missionary Church has been gracious enough to allow us to meet at 9am, while they continue to hold their services at 11am.

We hope that you'll stop by for a visit. When you do, here are a few things you can expect:

A Welcoming Atmosphere

Our desire is to be a community of people who extend the grace of God to everyone we meet. We believe that Jesus not only commands us to love one another, but enables us to love others with the love of God. So whether you're a believer, or still checking this whole church thing out, we want you to know that you are welcome here.

People of All Ages

You'll quickly notice that within our church, there are young families with little ones, middle schoolers and high schoolers, married couples, singles, empty-nesters, and grandparents. We believe that the church is best served when all of these stages of life are present because, like a family, each generation has something to offer. So no matter what your age or stage of life, we hope you will find a place to come and get involved.

Children's Ministry

During His earthly ministry, Jesus made it clear that He values children and that we as His followers should do the same. At Battle Creek Community Church, it is our goal to raise up entire families of disciples who will be able to go and make other disciples. This means that we will invest in children and adults at their age-appropriate levels. We invite entire families into our worship service, but realize that often times the sermon can be more adult-driven in content, than child-driven. This is why we provide age-appropriate learning environments for your children in safe and secure rooms, led by friendly volunteers who have a passion to teach your children the Word of God and the foundational doctrines of the faith at their level. And because we take your child's safety seriously, we ensure that each volunteer is pre-screened and background checked.

Christ-Centered Worship

Our style of worship is less important to us than the content of our worship. The team may include acoustic guitars, keyboards, bass, drums, and vocals. You may hear an old familiar hymn or a new worship song. Regardless of the style or the instrumentation for the day, the songs we sing will be theologically sound and grounded in Scripture. The pastor is a former worship leader and understands that you probably won't remember his sermon during the week, but you will remember the songs we sing! That's why we feel it is so important that our songs center on Christ and what He has done for us. We believe there is nothing greater we can sing about than that.

Solid Biblical Teaching

Since we believe that God inspired the writing of Scripture, and has revealed Himself to us through His Word, we believe that it holds incredible value to us as we seek to know Him, and live in light of His truth. This is why you will often hear sermon series that will go through entire books of the Bible, and topical messages that will be rooted soundly in Scripture. We encourage you to bring your Bible, and if you don't have one, we will provide one for you to use during the service.

Regular Celebration of Communion & Baptism

One of the privileges we have as Christians is to share in communion with one another. It acts as a reminder of the death and resurrection of our Savior, but also of the unity we share as His Body with Him and with one another. It is always a celebration: sometimes it will be more reflective, other times more celebratory. But chances are, we will celebrate it when you come to visit. If you are a baptized believer, we invite you to take communion with us.

We will also celebrate with those who have made a profession of faith and want to publicly identify with Christ through baptism as often as there are conversions. This is one of our greatest joys as a community of believers. More information will be made available soon about when we will hold our first baptism service.
